A family affair

Bernard Ramouneda was born in Bagnères de Bigorre, studied at catering college in Tarbes and then worked as commis chef under Sandrini at "la table des Cordeliers" in Condom for two years. In 1968 he joined his grandmother, Angèle, in the kitchen at Le Florida and became manager of the restaurant in 1984.

Baptiste, his son, worked in Haute Couture in Paris for 12 years as a commercial director for famous fashion houses such as Lanvin, Armani and Kenzo.

In 2013, father and son decided to join forces in the family-run restaurant created by grandmère Angèle in 1935.

To whom all this is due, as she passed on her love of French cuisine to her family.

Four hands' cooking

Marc Abramovici is the new Franco-Spanish chef at the Florida. His cooking is inventive, spontaneous and dedicated to the love of good food and local produce.

After training with Bernard Ramouneda and working for 20 years in top European restaurants, Marc has returned to his native Gascony and to the Florida. His culinary talents reinforce the local saying; “Le bonheur est dans le Gers” - “Happiness IS the Gers!”.
